18 Jan Farm Tour: Days of Snow
When nearby Seattle anxiously awaits snowfall, chances are we already have a nice blanket covering our little farm. This year has been full of new snow adventures and I thought I’d share some pictures of what is happening here with this years massive snow dump. Total accumulation has been approx 15″ over the past several days.

as you keep coming down the drive.. there is another tree that we have our eyes on. I just hope it doesn't get windy!

The north pasture is perfect for sledding - the kids have been out almost every waking hour since the snow first fell.

Here is a sneak peak at our brand new aquaponic system!! The thermal mass of water keeps the hoophouse around 45 degrees, despite being in teh mid 20's outside! More on this later...

Only one of our animals is OK with the snow..the loud little call duck! The chickens, dog, horse, goat.. not intersted!!

It is handy to have a little biodiesel bobcat for the landscape business.. it is also a giant snow shovel to clear access to the world and to build snow parks! This pile is the launch point...

My cold frame is nice and insulated, the lettuces inside are doing fine.. but notice the 4'6" snowboard jump in the making behind the garden!
